Newborn gowns are the easy way to dress your
infant
Getting infants dressed can be extremely difficult and time consuming without newborn gowns. Their arms and legs
never cooperate, and they don't follow direction at all. Once you get a leg in, and try to put in the other leg,
out comes an arm, then the other arm!
A popular solution for this problem is a newborn gown. Newborn gowns are long enough to extend past the infant's
feet. In addition, they do not have any holes for the infant's legs. Instead, an elastic band surrounding an
opening at the gown's bottom makes it possible to dress and undress your infant quickly and easily. In addition,
the gown will not ride up the newborn's legs due to the elastic band.
The best features of newborn gowns are that they are flexible and convenient. Similar to a warm sweater, a gown
can be easily put on the newborn for some additional warmth, or over top a Onesie or a diaper. If changing the
infant's diaper, simply move the gown up above the infant's belly. Another benefit is that you can use one piece of
clothing to keep your infant nice and warm, instead of several layers of clothing. This cuts down on the amounts of
dirty clothes which need to make their way to the washer and dryer.
Although the term 'gown' may imply that this piece of infant clothing of just for girls, newborn gowns are
available for both girls and boys. You can dress your baby boy in a baseball or football gown, and not have to be
concerned that he looks feminine at all. In fact the variety of gown styles is endless, from pretty floral
patterns, to popular cartoon characters, your certain to find a gown which meets your aesthetic needs.
In addition, these gowns come in a wide variety of materials which are safe for newborns. A popular variation of
a newborn gown is the newborn sack, also known as a sleep sack. A sleep sack may not have any opening at the feet,
or may have Velcro or a zipper which will allow easy access to the gown's opening. Aside from this being an
ingenious creation, there's nothing quite as cue as seeing an infant in a sleep sack. They look as if they are in a
cocoon, all snuggled up, with just their cute head poking out.
Newborn gowns are made by most well known children's clothiers including Gerber and Carters and can be purchased
at popular retailers such as Kohls, Walmart, and Target.
